Having a baby is a joyful time of discovery and development. During pregnancy and birth women want to feel relaxed, safe and confident. This requires an ethos of care and education; an environment in which mothers and midwives are informed and relaxed.

 

Maternal Link aims to develop community midwifery services, based from birth centres, who will promote the normalisation of pregnancy and childbirth. Working with midwives and PCTs, Maternal Link aims to:

 

* Improve the quality of maternity care
* Increase the safety of maternity care
* Ensure a sustainable future for midwifery care
* Provide value for money to taxpayers
